July saw the official launch of a new business proposition for up-and-coming advisers, in the shape of Club RT.
The brainchild of former AFA Rising Star Award winners Chris Browne and Matt Hale, Club RT is a support offer aimed at young advisers looking to strike out on their own.
Located in Melbourne’s new Docklands precinct, Chris told riskinfo that the idea for Club RT evolved from his own experiences as a new adviser starting out in the industry, and a desire to support the next wave of professional advisers.
“Club RT is for those advisers with a few years’ experience under their belt, who want to run their own business and really take that to the next level,” he said.
Chris described the offer as providing a safety net for other young, entrepreneurial advisers looking to start their own business.
He added that membership was open to advisers across Australia, not just those based in Melbourne.
“We’re targeting around 20 to 25 members over the next 12-24 months, but we really want to hand-pick those advisers. We’re looking for the future leaders of our profession,” Browne explained.
Club RT boasts a unique office, called The Clubhouse. It is a custom-built shared office space overlooking New Quay in Melbourne’s Docklands. It provides free wi-fi, formal and informal client meeting spaces, a boardroom, secure lockers and a bar!
“We saw that there was a need for a professional space where advisers who operate from their home office could bring clients,” said Chris. “The Clubhouse provides that, but it’s also about bringing the team together, to strategise and to bounce ideas off one-another. It really fits in with the Rising Tide team culture, which is about helping young advisers to grow and develop in a safe, supportive environment.”
